A little bit about the building: "The first hotel, which has already been mentioned, was the Bryant house, and in 1888 was known as The Banning. The name was changed when Capt. and Mrs. T. E. Fraser became owners and managers in December of that year. This hotel is still in use as a rooming house. For a good many years this house was the social center of the little community. The Spokane hotel, on the corner of San Gorgonio avenue and Ramsey streets, was formerly known as the Coplin house, when it was owned and managed by Mrs. Mary Coplin, one of the pioneer residents of this vicinity. The Alta Vista hotel, which occupies the second story of the Dudley block, was opened in 1905, when the building was erected, and is at present in operation." (visit link)
