The statue sits on a bench on the main floor of an exhibition area at Griffith Observatory. Einstein is sitting with one hand supporting his body and the other hand is the air. He's staring at his hand.

About the asteroid: "2001 Einstein, provisional designation 1973 EB, is a bright Hungaria asteroid from the innermost region of the asteroid belt, approximately 5 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered by Swiss astronomer Paul Wild at Zimmerwald Observatory near Bern, Switzerland, on 5 March 1973.[3] It is named after physicist Albert Einstein." (visit link)
