Saint Brelade is one of the twelve parishes of Jersey. Legend has it that St Brelade prayed for land whilst searching for the Islands of the Blest. An island arose from the sea on which he celebrated Easter. As he departed so did the island. It was an enormous fish sent in answer to his prayers.

Saint Brelade is the south-western parish of Jersey. Its population is around 9,560, and it borders only one other parish, Saint Peter. The parish is the second-largest parish by surface area, covering 7,103 vergées, which is 11% of the total land surface of the island.
