Blasterz have no idea if this pay phone was installed while the Plains depot was still serving Southern Railway passengers, or if it was installed when this depot became the national headquarters of Jimmy Carter's ultimately successful presidential campaign in 1975.
In 2017, when we picked up the handle, we heard a dial tone. The phone is operated by Equity Pay Telephone.
