EN: Fiesch: "Azure, a fess wavy Argent in base Coupeaux of the same." (Flags of the World)

I could not find the origin and meaning of either of the flags.

The flag of the Goms district is the same one as the of capital town, also called Goms, which developed of the fusion of nine independent communities between 2001 and 2017 in several steps. Before, this flag was that of the today town district of Münster, but even then it was the district flag.

I found the flag together with those of the canton of Valais and Switzerland at the town hall in the village center, where also the tourist office and the police are located.

Herkunft und Bedeutung beider Flaggen konnte ich nicht in Erfahrung bringen. Die Flagge des Bezirks Goms ist die selbe wie die des Hauptortes Goms, der zwischen 2001 und 2017 in mehreren Etappen aus der Fusion von vorher neun eigenständigen Gemeinden bestand. Die Flagge war zuvor diejenige der heutigen Teilgemeinde Münster, aber schon damals auch die Bezirksflagge.

Ich fand die Flagge zusammen mit denen des Kantons Wallis und der Schweiz an der Gemeindeverwaltung im Dorfzentrum, wo auch Tourismusbüro und Polizei untergebracht sind.
