EN: The station of the cantonal police in Fiesch is located on the upper floor of a multi-storey house on the Furkastrasse in the village center. Like everywhere else in the Valais, the post is marked in French, even if it is in the German-speaking part. The building also houses the town hall, the tourism office, a bank and an engineering company. The police have been in the building since 2015 the earliest, on older pictures it is not there yet.

According to the address directory of the police, this is a Territorial Base B. Unfortunately there is no explanation of that anywhere. However, it seems to be a intermediate level in the hierarchy of the different police station types. In this county, it is the largest one.

DE: Der Posten der Kantonspolizei Fiesch befindet sich im Obergeschoss eines mehrstöckigen Hauses an der Furkastrasse im Dorfzentrum. Wie überall sonst im Wallis ist der Posten französisch beschriftet, auch wenn er sich im deutschprachigen Teil befindet. Das Gebäude beherbergt auch die Gemeindeverwaltung, das Tourismusbüro, eine Bank und ein Ingenieurbüro. Die Polizei befindet sich frühestens seit 2015 in diesem Gebäude, auf älteren Bildern kommte noch nicht vor.

Laut Adressverzeichnis der Polizei handelt es sich um eine Territorial Basis B. Leider ist nirgends erklärt, was das bedeutet; es scheint sich aber um eine mittlere Stufe der Hierachie der verschiedenen Postentypen zu handeln. In diesem Berzirk ist es der Grösste.

I have had NO problems with taking photos of Police stations but please respect the fact that some services may be nervous about having their photo taken and inquire as to why... I have found that once things are explained they are more than happy to let me photograph the building, crest, chief... (they are people too!)
