George Gordon Byron, 6th Baron Byron, (22 January 1788 – 19 April 1824), commonly known simply as Lord Byron, was an English poet, peer, politician, and a leading figure in the Romantic movement. He is regarded as one of the greatest British poets[1] and remains widely read and influential.
Lord Byron is honored by the city of Königswinter for his poem "The castled crag of Drachenfels" (1816) with the "Lord Byron-Platz". The memorial was established in 1984.
A big commemorative table from cast iron is mounted at a row of basalt columns.
