Access is from McMillan Street, with limited parking near the entry to the pathway at: S37° 58.495' E147° 5.180'.
This boardwalk has one useful, but not so common aspect for such an open boardwalk, and that is, that there is heavy-duty 'chicken wire' covering the wooden boards so as to give better tread and friction - and less chance of slippage.
There is an information sign at the far end, for the lookout, that explains the significance of the Gold Rush of the 1860's to Stratford, as many people passed through, and were brought river transport to the port near here.
