This panel on a rectangular stone cairn depicts the view in the form of a drawing by Rosemary Bryce and set up by Perth & Kinross District Council. It shows the view from west through to north-west from the lower western slopes of the Knock of Crieff, a wooded hill north of the town of Crieff. The viewpoint is at 180 metres high and looks over the wooded country setting of Strathearn, northwards to the southern edge of the Highlands.

Apart from the view the panel also gives information on the landforms that are being viewed, land that has evolved over the last 500 million years, including the Highlands being formed under the sea 400 million years ago to the crystallised rock called schist. Also the lowlands being formed 330 million years ago when the softer red sandstone dropped 2,400 metres, and the big freeze 2.5 million to 10,000 years ago, when glaciers formed the area and 4,000 years ago when man first shaped the land into what is seen today.

The panel is situated in a car park which is at the end of a narrow road which skirts the west side of the hill after passing the Crieff Hydro Hotel.
