The Upper Reservoir in West Springfield is a popular fishing spot and the home to West Springfield's fishing derby which has be held annually in the spring for 31 years. Slightly east of the center of the pond is a large fountain that sprays a cone of water 10' into the air. It is not only a decorative addition to the reservoir bur also serves to aerate and purify the water.
