EN: This outdoor altar is located at the side of the road on the southern border of the village of Simplon.
The walls look like made of brick, but some damages in the corners reveeal that underneath it is concrete. The roof is covered with slate. The interior of the niche with a statue of Mary is designed as a Lourdes grotto. In the gable it has a few holes, maybe once there was a sign mounted with a date or other information.
DE: Dieses Bildhäuschen steht am südlichen Dorfrand von Simplon an der Strasse.
Die Wände sehen wie aus Backstein aus, an einigen Schäden in den Ecken sieht man aber, dass darunter Beton ist. Das Dach ist mit Schiefer gedeckt. Das Innere der Nische mit einer Statue von Maria ist als Lourdes-Grotte gestaltet. Im Giebel hat es ein paar Löcher, vielleicht war da einmal ein Schild mit einer Jahreszahl oder anderen Informationen angebracht.
