The Marienkapelle was built about 1800. It stands at an old crossroad of the ways from Rüngsdorf to Mehlem as well as from Muffendorf. The founder of the chapel is not known.
The chapel is dedicated to the admiration of Maria as the mother of Jesus. In appreciation of lasted help numerous votive tablets were appropriated inside.
The chapel was restored in 1986/87 and put under conservation of monuments and historic buildings. Later the outside arrangement was anew formed with the help of the citizens, so that the chapel is now a centre of the crossroad.
