EN: The station of Bitsch is located on the banks of the Rhone on the southern edge of the village. It was opened in 1914 and belonged to the Furka-Oberalp-Bahn. Since the merger with the Brig-Visp-Zermatt-Bahn 2003, the company is called Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn. It is a narrow gauge line with a track width of 1000mm.
The station has two tracks and is serviced every 30 minutes by regional trains between Visp (or Zermatt) and Fiesch (or Andermatt). In addition, the train station is served by line 1 of the city bus Brig.
The original station building no longer exists, except for a shed next to the railroad tracks. On the platform there is only a shelter with a ticket machine and information boards.
DE: Der Bahnhof von Bitsch befindet sich am Ufer der Rhone am Südrand des Dorfes. Er wurde 1914 eröffnet und gehörte der Furka-Oberalp-Bahn. Seit der Fusion mit der Brig-Visp-Zermatt-Bahn 2003 heisst die Gesellschaft Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn. Es ist eine Schmalspurbahn mit Spurweite 1000mm.
Die Station hat zwei Gleise und wirde alle 30 Minuten von Regionalzügen zwischen Visp (oder Zermatt) und Fiesch (oder Andermatt) bedient. Ausserdem wird der Bahnhof von der Linie 1 der Stadtbusse Brig angefahren.
Das ursprüngliche Bahnhofsgebäude existiert, bis auf einen Schuppen neben den Gleisen, nicht mehr. Auf dem Perron befindet sich nur noch ein Unterstand mit Ticketautomat und Informationstafeln.
