Stratford is a rural town on the Avon River, about 230 kilometres east of Melbourne. An internet search shows that there are many of the Galway family buried in the Stratford region.
The cast bronze plaque is nicely embedded in the upper of the two wooden back slats. There are four similar wooden slats for the base part of the seat. The slats are bolted to a broad metal bar, and the supporting square metal posts are embedded in concrete.
The plaque reads:
In Memory of
The Galway Family
1986

[Coincidentally this is directly opposite Neil Manning, who owns the property east of here where there is derelict Trig Point, that he was able to escort me to. Nice]
Where is this bench located?: Just south of the Stratford Senior Citizens building
Who is this bench honoring?: The Galway Family
