A nicely constructed "Waterfowl Viewing Stand" built by the West Elgin Nature Club.
The covered wooden structure faces over a wetlands and small pond (partially obscured in summer) that nevertheless had several species of ducks enjoying it when we visited.
Birds that can be seen: Mallards, Canada Geese, Blue Heron. We also saw a Blue Jay, and a small flock of cowbirds.
The fully accessible viewing area was built through donations from government and private sources.
The shed is accessed from the rest area's picnic area.
