Diorama and information dispalys deep inside Gough's Caves, Cheddar Gorge. Located near the furthest extent of the show cave, the display shows Gough and team discovering St Paul's and King Soloman's Temple chambers.
An illuminated display reads:
'1890 - 1898
- the courage and determination of Richard
Cox Gough's underground exploration is
rewarded when he and his sons discover the
two most fabulous chambers in Gough's
Cave - St Paul's and King Solomon's Temple

1895 - 1990
- cave-divers Richard Stevenson and Rob
Palmer bravely seek the "Lost Cave of Cheddar"
a mile underground, descending 200 feet (61
metres) below water to explore the fast-flowing
river beneath Gough's Cave.
'

The first 820 m (2,690 ft) of the cave are open to the public as a show cave, and this stretch contains most of the more spectacular formations. The greater part of the cave's length is made up of the river passage, which is accessible only by cave diving.

"Preparation of the new chambers for general viewing did not take long, for by the end of May 1899 Gough had the area opened to the public. The chambers of St. Paul's and Solomon's Temple were the first to be illuminated by electricity. This was quickly followed by the removal of the installed gas apparatus which was replaced with electric cabling and lighting throughout the remainder of the cave."
