A 25' tall freestanding gateway memorial arch with a pointed top is dedicated to the memory of Mary Daggar Post Barber. The arch is constructed with stone blocks and is located at the main vehicle entrance to Springdale Cemetery.
The dedication, in Gothic font, is split between the left and right sides of the arch, about 10 high, on the street side. It is inscribed:

and her daughters

and Margaret Louise Schlesinger
Mary Jagger Post was the heiress daughter of Gerardus Post of New York, NY who was a founder of Chemical Bank, which is now J.P. Morgan Chase Bank. She was born in New York City on December 29, 1828, married William T. Barber of a prominent Connecticut family, and died on April 13, 1882. She is interred in a family plot in Springdale Cemetery, East Windsor, CT.
