Forest Hill Cemetery was founded in the 1850's when the City Of Madison bought the land that it is on now (which was then farmland).
In 1863, a portion of the land was sold to the Roman Catholic Societies, and it is now the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. A vault and A chapel were later built in the 1860's and 70's.
