The Essex Scottish (now Essex and Kent Scottish) Regiment is a locally-based Canadian Army Reserve Infantry Regiment based in Windsor and nearby Chatham, ON.

During the Second World War, the Regiment raised a Battalion of over 500 officers and men.

It was part of the 2nd Canadian Infantry Division, based in Camp Aldershot, England. In 1942 it was, and its sister regiments were tasked with taking part in Operation Jubilee, the infamous Raid on Dieppe. Over 500 members went ashore; only 2 officers and 49 Other Ranks made it back to England. The remainder were either killed in action or taken prisoner.

The Regiment subsequently was remanned and took part in Operation Overlord, the invasion of Europe in 1944. From there it participated in various European Theatres until the end of the war.
