The market place is a meeting point for all sorts of people - locals and tourists. In the years 1983/84 it was redesigned and closed for traffic. The fountain was erected 1988 and reminds of the pump that stood here up until 1907 for the towns water supply.
The artist is Helmut Schlüter.
