EN: This fountain consists of fairly roughly hewn granite slabs. The tube leads quite high out of the column, but then about half a meter down, before it becomes a normal outlet. It looks as if the original idea did not work as intended and was then corrected.
The fountain stands at the roadside on the northern edge of Simplon, near the junction to the pass road.
DE: Dieser Brunnen besteht aus ziemlich roh behauenen Granitplatten. Die Röhre führt ziemlich hoch aus der Säule heraus, dann aber etwa einen halben Meter nach unten, bevor sie dann zu einem normalen Auslass wird. Es sieht so aus, wie wenn die ursprüngliche Idee nicht so ganz funktioniert hat und dann nachträglich korrigiert wurde.
Der Brunnen steht am nördlichen Rand von Simplon nahe bei der Abzweigung zur Passstrasse am Strassenrand.
