The Krausberg is located south of Dernau. At the summit stands a stone observation tower which was established in 1927 by Eifelverein Dernau and could be rebuilt after the war destruction in 1967.

From the view platform one has a magnificent all-round look over the neighbouring mountains and villages. On clear days one can see the high buildings of Bonn and Cologne.
