The first mast was erected in 1940, but was destroyed by the German armed forces on 7 April 1945 before the British forces invaded.
In 1948 a 119 m high mast was erected, which in 1999 was replaced by a 149.5 m high mast.
In January 2015 the medium wave transmitter was switched off.
On 28 March 2017 the operation of DVB-T was stopped and the operation of DVB-T2 was started.
