4990.83 is chiseled into the west wall of the Pioneer Building on the corner of Sheridan Avenue and 13th Street. The mark was created about 18 feet north of the southwest corner of the building, in the top of the bottom row of stones, about a foot above the sidewalk.

The Pioneer Building, a two story building of rough coursed ashlar sandstone, was built in 1906, giving us the earliest date that the mark could have been monumented.
