Warden D.C. McClung's project for inmates at the Missouri State Prison became Missouri State Park#1 in Jefferson City, Missouri.
The buildings in the park grounds was also quarried nearby by the prison's inmate artisans and stone masons. The original building was an open air dancing pavilion for the city's residents before air conditioning. In the 1970s the pavilion was enclosed and air conditioning installed. It thus looks a little different than the original pavilion. The park today and pavillion is much used by city residents and visitors who appreciate the scenic view afforded by the high ground upon which the park is located.
