This mural is painted directly on the side of McKinstry's storage building and is about 15 feet tall.
Starting on the left, the mural features a giant wooden chair, one of the signature products of McKinstry's during its beginnings. On the seat is an old fashioned tape measure which has the name Fred MacMurray painted on it. This is to honor MacMurray, who was a Beaver Dam native and a close personal friend to the McKinstry family.
One of the legs of the chair has a beaver gnawing at the wood. Near the other leg there is a pot which contains a dark liquid. There are some wood shavings surrounding the pot.
The main focus of the mural is the word "J. McKinstry & Co." along with a little ribbon that says "Since 1858".
A medallion touting they are the manufacturers fine furniture in the middle of a blue parchment-like banner. The left side of the banner notes they are the makers of coffins and funeral supplies and have the fastest hearse in Dodge County. The right side of the banner notes that they make chairs and cabinets of all kinds.
The bottom of the mural, below the banner, states "Wisconsin's oldest family owned business".
