Over 50 guitars are located in the Guitar Gallery: The Quest for Volume within the Museum of Pop Culture. One of them is a 1973 Ovation Electric Country Artist guitar. A nearby placard reads:

Coming full circle with an acoustic/electric guitar

With military spending uncertain in the 1960s, the Kamen Aircraft Company retooled for the open market, including a turn to music. The various models of Ovation guitars were designed by flight engineers who used their knowledge of vibration and resonance in helicopter blades to increase vibrations and resonance in the guitar.

The result? A popular hollow-body guitar that produced true acoustic tone and didn't feedback noise when amplified.
