Surrounded by civic buildings and a church, the water tower is near the centre of the block on the north side of First Avenue Northwest and between First Street and Piegan Street. This is one of the really old style towers which were built in the 'teens, twenties and thirties. The roof of the tank, once painted red, has been repainted silver, like the rest of the tank and tower. This happened quite a few years ago, though, as it's time for a new coat of paint.
Like a great many water towers in the country, Browning's is a
Benchmark Station.
