The POW WOW Trading Post features a large imposing sign. As Route 66 has changed over the years so has this business. In the days of the Mother Road, the sign displayed the words MOTEL where the words ROCKS now appear.
Route 66 Pow Wow Trading Post Holbrook - This towering vintage sign, still stands to this day, representing period culture alongside Historic Route 66. There is evidence on the sign of the 'Pow Wow' being a Hotel/Motel. There is a 'Vacancy & Full' neon, & the words 'TV & Refrigeration' at the bottom of the sign.
From the 'Images of 66' Photo book:
"The POW WOW Trading Post, used to be a Motel with Curio-Rock Shop in the early days. The rooms were converted into a larger Rock Shop & trading post, featuring all things Geological."
