At the corner of Main Street and Fifth Street, this two storey brick building was apparently the Manhattan Post Office when X 493 was monumented in 1957.

Though this building is no longer the post office, it is still the building with the benchmark. X 493 is on the Main street side of the building, about fifteen feet southeast of the north corner of the building, midway between two windows, even with the bottoms of their sills and about a foot above the sidewalk.
