Monumented in 1906, this benchmark disk will be found along the northeast side of Wyoming Street, just north of 3rd Street.

When monumented, the building, then the Butte Wholesale Grocery, ended at this corner. Since then the building has been extended to the southeast and the benchmark is set in a foundation stone just northwest of the dividing line between the old stone foundation and the newer concrete foundation, about 3.5 feet above the sidewalk. The building is now used as a warehouse store for Steele's Furniture.

ABOUT 0.35 MILE NORTHWEST ALONG WYOMING STREET FROM THE NORTHERN PACIFIC RAILWAY STATION AT BUTTE, IN SECTION 13, T 3 N, R 8 W, SET VERTICALLY IN THE SOUTHWEST FACE OF THE BUTTE WHOLESALE GROCERY BUILDING WHICH IS AT THE INTERSECTION OF IRON STREET AND WYOMING STREET, 125 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF IRON STREET, 44 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF WYOMING STREET, 10 INCHES NORTHWEST OF THE SOUTH CORNER OF THE BUILDING, AND ABOUT 3 1/2 FEET ABOVE THE SIDEWALK. E 3 1906 WAS STAMPED BY THIS PARTY.
