This local club is Grade 2 listed by English Heritage and dates back to the 17th century. The building's original timbers were salvaged from a ship named 'The Mermaid' and can still be seen in some parts of the club today.There is bar-side seating for the locals and an open lounge as well as a separate pool table area and upstairs function room. The Club won a branch Club of the Year Award in 2012 and is open to non-members.
