This 19th century benchmark North Meridian was not given a PID and is not listed in the NGS database, even though its companion bolt benchmark South Meridian (CN0339) is listed.

North Meridian is located on the northwest lawn of the AL state Capitol Building in Montgomery, near the statue of Albert Patterson.

It is a blunt conical monument inscribed NORTH MERIDIAN on the sides. The top is flat and equally bisected with two lines. A bolt of leaded in the center. Around the bolt the letters U S B M are each carved into a quadrant formed by the intersecting lines.
