As the plaque reads:

Defintion: Of a Millstone: Either of the circular stone used for grinding (as grain)

This uncompleted Millstone was shaped by Mr. Adrew Trotzuk, who came to Canada with his family in 1928, from what was then Volnynia, Poland, and settled in the St. Walburg District, about one mile west of town.

About 1932, times not being prosperous, to help provide for his family, Mr. Trotzuk decided to build a windmill to grind grain. He found what he thought would be a suitable hard-type rock and started chiseling it into the required shape.

But this project was never completed, as in 1936, he decided to move to British Columbia, where he passed away in 1979.

The stone was turned up by the RM of Frenchman Butte Road Machinery in 1983.

Mr Andrew Trotzuk was a distant relative of the Trotzuk family presently residing in this area.
