The 18 feet tall Vaquero stands by his saddle. He is wearing chaps, a vest, shirt, neckerchief, and wide brimmed hat. He has a handlebar mustache. He is holding his quirt in his left hand.

The base he is standing on has relief art scenes of working with cattle.

The statue is at the East end of the quad in front of Old Main.
