At the summit of the Knoppen a small historical boundary stone stands beside the mountain path.
On a side the letter "A" is chiselled. The only approx. 25 cm high stone is well-preserved. It stands almost precisely on today's local border between the municipalities of Mayschoß and Rech. To the west of the border the district belonging to Mayschoß is "In der Bonhardt", bordering to the district belonging to Rech "An der Koppnück".
The inscription could expel to the dukedom Arenberg which owned big areas in this region until 1794 French troops took the dukedom.
Today's "Fürstlich von Arenbergische Verwaltung" as a sort of legal successor of the principality, manages and administers big woodlands in the region.
Further informations about the boundary stone were not to be found.
