Part of the legend goes back to the cemetery that laid on the land where the school was built. All corpses are deemed to have been moved when the School Board bought the lot, but legend says that school kids once found human bones...

Another legend says that a Sacred-Heart statue, two-meters high and weighing 3 300 pounds, fell from the 5th floor, just missing a passer-by. Officials denied this story, stating that the statue was simply removed in 1970, but it is nowhere to be found since then...

Yet another tale tells that a construction worker fell in freshly poured concrete during the construction in 1910, and that he died there and has been haunting the building ever since...

Several parts of the building are not accessible to the students, and that contributes to the sharing of all those legends. Over the past years, a teacher (Andrée Bergeron) decided to use those stories in a class project. The work of students (in French only) can be found at (visit link)
