Queens Gardens is a public park of 3.5 hectares , in the mid to late 19 century the area was used to mine clay for the manufacture of bricks which were used in several prominent buildings in the City.
Queens Gardens were officially opened in 1899 and contains several ornamental lakes, exotic trees and a large lawn area. The main entry is on the corner of Hay and Plain Sts
