The well was bricked over in 1924. The pump is rusty so I assume it is cast iron.

“Oh! And if you have time you should take a walk downtown on the brick streets. When they built the streets, the filled an old water well and bricked over it. But some children had died in that well, and sometimes people walking there can hear screams coming up from the bricks.

How to find.:
Coordinates for parking is for the Firestone Auto Store. Look to the right of the store toward the corner, you should see a statue of Thomas J. Rusk, walk toward it and you will see the hand pump in the planter in front of him.
