Long Description:

What appears to be an unexceptional traffic triangle in reality was once the center of Greenfield, MA. A historical marker placed by the Greenfield Kiwanis Club describes the history of the area.

The historical marker is inscribed:

ORIGINAL CENTER OF GREENFIELD &
SITE OF FIRST MEETINGHOUSE, 1760
1831. SOLDIERS MUSTERED HERE
FOR REVOLUTIONARY WAR AREA
NAMED FOR JAMES CORSE WHO
TRAPPED WOLVES HERE.
