In Groton, within the Groton State Forest, is Ricker Pond State Park.
The park is along Vermont State Route 232, two miles north of the intersection with U.S. Route 302. The entrance is on the north east side of the road. At the entrance is a large sign and the ranger station.
Ricker State Park is a 48 acre facility with a campground that includes tent, camper, and adirondack sites. Also, there are cabin facilities. Within the campground is a beach and a boat ramp. The Cross Vermont Rail Trail runs through the park.
The park opened in 1933, and was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps. It has since been expanded to its present size.
