A nice view can be had from either the southern or northern shore of the Latrobe River as you approach this historic Plank Bridge. Built in 1883 by the Victorian government, it still functions as a footbridge, and on Saturdays and Sundays the chain that blocks vehicular traffic is removed between 3pm & 4pm as part of the display of it working as a Swing Bridge.
"At its peak, the bridge was opened up to 20 times a day, allowing the movement of steamers between Sale and Melbourne." Wikipedia
