*In 1912 the Shelburne Public Library was built on Owen Sound Street in Shelburne. The library was made possible by a $6,000 grant from the Carnegie Foundation.
In 2002 a Super Build grant of nearly $600,000 was received making it possible for our library to become wheelchair accessible with the installation of an elevator and accessible washrooms.
Dedicated fundraisers, generous donors and community support raised an extra $300,000! We now have a beautiful, modern, accessible facility, one that has preserved the Gothic style of the original library.*Text quoted from library site
