This tall gray granite memorial, erected by the United daughters of the Confederacy of Texas in 2010 is dedicated to those Texans who died at the Meridian field hospital during the trans-Mississippi campaign of the American Civil War, and to all Texans fighting for the Confederacy who passed this way.
The monument stands at the northern edge of Confederate Mound in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The monument reads as follows:
"Dedicated to the memory of the men from Texas who are known to be buried here, and to all brave Texans who passed this way
NOTHING IS ENDED UNTIL IT IS FORGOTTEN
