Fogo United Church was designated a Registered Heritage Structure by the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador in 1997.
Begun as a Methodist church, the small Fogo Methodist congregation numbered approximately 140 people rebuilt their church in 1877, two years after the Great Fire of Fogo that levelled the town.
We attended a "Christmas in July" concert complete with ugly sticks and mummers!
