[EN] On 13 April 1961, the INAO authorised the appellations “Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune” and “Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits”.

This was the moment chosen by Etienne Kayser to suggest to Bernard Rocault that their alliance should take concrete form with the creation of a common structure. Thus on 18 September 1964, the small cooperative winery, Rosé d’Orches (next to the village of Saint-Romain) extended its circumscription to the totality of the cantons of the region, later becoming "La Cave des Hautes-Côtes". Soon after we saw a move to la Côte with the purchase of some land near Beaune on 13 January 1968.

The construction of the winery took place here and later, in 1977, we saw the opening of a wine shop for direct sales to the public. This structure is still growing… We have seen, for example, alliances with the prestigious wineries of Gevrey-Chambertin and Pommard - allowing more growth along la Côte. This dynamic momentum is constantly being recharged and is boosted by a growing know-how. We saw a recent step in this direction, in 2001, when the winery merged with Les Caves de la Vervelle. This last union opened up the possibility of offering a choice of wines unequalled in the Côte d’Or.

Nuiton-Beaunoy, today, brings together 115 associated winegrowers from the Côtes and the Hautes-Côtes, The total vineyard area is some 520 hectares, representing an average production of 25,000 hectolitres of wine per year. Thanks to these men and women who cultivate vines rooted in a multitude of terroirs, Nuiton-Beaunoy draws from a wealth of terrain allowing an almost infinite range of expression to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
