The Angus Glens are a series of valleys that eat their way north-westwards into the Grampian Mountains in the county of Angus in eastern Scotland. Glen Clova extends for 10 miles along the B955 road to the hamlet of Clova where a minor road continues for another 3 miles to Glendoll where the public road ends at a large car park.
The sign is one of three which are situated near the visitor's centre and toilets at the end of the car park. The map highlights six trails which all start from the "you are here". The trails are colour coded as follows:
WHITE - White Water Trail - 2.5 miles - Easy. Follows the White Water then returns through the forest. Look out for forest birds, the Coal Tit, Jay and Siskin.
RED - Doll Trail - 3 miles - Moderate. A gentle climb through the forest. Look out for Pine Marten.
GREEN - Corrie Fee Trail - 2 miles - Moderate. Heads through the forest to emerge at the spectacular Corrie Fee Nature Reserve.
YELLOW - South Esk Trail - 2 miles - Easy. Follows the River South Esk to a footbridge and returns on the opposite bank. Look out for birds, especially Dipper.
BLUE - Donault Trail - 5 miles - Moderate. The longest trail follows the White Water through the forest. Look out for Red Deer.
PURPLE - Viewpoint Trail - 3 miles - Strenuous. Zig-zags up the east side of the glen to a viewpoint over the car park.
