Mercury was a god in the Roman religion.
He is considered to be the "god's messenger", God the trader and thief.
The attributes of Mercury are the Hermesstab, a winged helmet, wing-boots and often a purse which he holds in his right hand.

Psyche, was the youngest daughter of a king. She was so beautiful that people said her beauty surpassed that of the goddess of the love goddess Venus. Venus was angry at her and ordered her son Amor to make Psyche fall in love with the worst man in the world. Cupid himself fell in love with Psyche. Venus, annoyed by the disobedience of her son, causes Psyche to rub with the beauty ointment of the Proserpina, whereupon Psyche falls into a death-like sleep. Cupid discovers his mistress and shuts his sleep with his wings. Cupid, and Psyche, and the godfather Jupiter makes Psyche immortal.
