Venus was the Roman goddess of love, erotic desire, and beauty.
Whose daughter she really is, nobody knows so exactly. Homer claims that she is the child of Zeus and Dione; Hesiod, on the other hand, thinks it was made from the foam of the sea (that is why it is also called the "foam-born").

The Venus Medici is an ancient statue of the type Venus pudica, the shameful Venus. In the 16th century, the statue came into the possession of the Medici family.
This statue is inspired by the original Venus Medici.
