FR La tour Cardinalis ou tour de l'horloge, haute de quarante deux mètres, est un des plus beaux clochers du département, selon Raymond Collier.

C’est une tour carrée, construite en 1316 selon la DRAC (ou après 1378 d'après Luc Thévenon car un acte signale que le terrain de la tour est nu à cette date), ouverte de baies géminées, surmontée d’une pyramide de tuf, encadrée de quatre pyramidions. Elle est construite comme clocher du couvent des dominicains.

Le couvent a été bâti grâce un legs d'Hugues de Saint-Cher, fait cardinal en 1244 avant le Ier concile de Lyon, mort en 1263, avec l'appui de Raimond III de Medullion (ou Raimond de Mevolhon), archevêque d'Embrun, qui étaient tous les deux dominicains.

En très mauvais état après les guerres du début du xviie siècle, elle est rapidement reconstruite. Le parement de pierres de taille de la partie inférieure date du xixe. Des gargouilles ornent ses angles. Elle est classée monument historique.

Sur l'une de ces faces on peut voir une horloge qui semble assez moderne : pas de cercle proprement dit, pas de fond, les chiffres dorés 12, 3, 6 et 9 se détachent clairement en chiffres arabes, les autres sont remplacés par des barres.
EN The Cardinalis tower or clock tower, high forty-two meters, is one of the most beautiful bell-towers in the department, according to Raymond Collier.

It is a square tower, built in 1316 according to the DRAC (or after 1378 according to Luc Thévenon because an act indicates that the tower's land is naked on this date), open of geminated bays, Surmounted by a pyramid of tuff, framed by four pyramidions. It is built as a bell tower of the convent of the Dominicans.

The convent was built by a legacy of Hugues de Saint-Cher, made cardinal in 1244 before the 1st Council of Lyon, died in 1263, with the support of Raimond III de Medullion (or Raimond de Mevolhon), Archbishop of Embrun, both of whom were Dominicans.

In very bad condition after the wars of the early seventeenth century, it is quickly rebuilt. The lower-sided stone facing dates back to the 19th century. Gargoyles adorn its corners. It is classified as a historical monument.

On one of these faces we can see a clock that seems modern enough: no circle proper, no background, the golden numbers 12, 3, 6 and 9 stand out clearly in Arabic numerals, the others are Replaced by bars.
